Position Summary The Banquet Bartender at the Beacon Grand is responsible for delivering refined, efficient, and anticipatory bar service for all banquet and event venues. This role supports weddings, galas, corporate meetings, and social functions by crafting beverages to standard, engaging guests with polished hospitality, and ensuring bar operations reflect the hotel’s luxury service standards.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of bartending experience in a luxury hotel, upscale banquet operation, or high-volume craft cocktail bar preferred
  • Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and basic mixology techniques
  • Familiarity with banquet or event-style service, including hosted and cash bar operations
  • Exceptional guest service skills with a polished, professional demeanor
  • Ability to handle cash and credit transactions accurately; experience with POS systems required
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage high-volume service while maintaining quality and composure
  • Team-oriented attitude and flexibility to support changing event needs and schedules
  • Required certifications (or ability to obtain upon hire): Valid state alcohol service certification; ServSafe/TIPS or Responsible Beverage Service strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide gracious, professional, and intuitive bar service consistent with Beacon Grand and luxury event standards
  • Set up, stock, and break down banquet bars according to event orders and hotel specifications
  • Prepare and serve a full range of classic and contemporary cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages with consistency and precision
  • Engage guests with warm, genuine hospitality; offer product knowledge and recommendations based on event style and guest preferences
  • Monitor guest consumption and practice responsible alcohol service in full compliance with state and local regulations and hotel policies
  • Accurately follow Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for bar setup, specialty cocktails, wine service, premium selections, and hosted/cash bar arrangements
  • Maintain accurate records of consumption, cash and credit transactions, and reconciliations at the end of each event or shift
  • Ensure all bar areas are meticulously clean, organized, and visually aligned with the Beacon Grand’s luxury presentation standards
  • Assist with wine service for seated events, including presentation and pouring according to fine-dining etiquette
  • Communicate effectively with Banquet Captains, Servers, and Culinary team to support seamless event flow and guest experience
  • Proactively monitor bar supplies; restock products, glassware, ice, and garnishes throughout service
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and sanitation standards (including local codes, ServSafe, and HACCP guidelines)
  • Support special and VIP events, off-site activations, and lobby/overflow bars as requested by Banquets leadership
  • Uphold hotel and brand standards for grooming, uniform, and professional conduct at all times
