The Banquet Barback is responsible for delivering excellence in guest service by developing relationships with guests, providing personalized service, anticipating, and delivering guests’ needs. The ideal Barback comprehends the cocktail/beverage menus, anticipates the needs of the bartenders to ensure all products and supplies are present. Hourly rate for this position is $31.12

Requirements

  • Candidate must have hands-on food and beverage knowledge and a comprehensive, working knowledge of the hospitality business.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed during busy times and high-profile events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Highly developed customer service skills; possessing a friendly approachable demeanor and strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of relevant banquet bar experience in a large convention hotel is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Must have knowledge of a variety of alcoholic beverages, must retain and maintain complete knowledge of all food and beverage menu items.
  • Work with bartenders and ensure all necessary supplies are stocked throughout the event.
  • Ensures compliance with all health, safety, sanitation awareness, hotel standards, and local laws.
  • Responsible for ensuring high-quality bar sets, service, food and beverage quality and presentation.
  • Respond to guests’ requests in an accurate and timely manner, creating a positive outcome that will result in a memorable experience.
  • Attend all required department trainings and meetings.
  • Perform any other duties required by management including but not limited to assisting housepersons with set up and break down of all the banquet bar areas as needed.
