The Banquet Bar Supervisor is an essential part of the food and beverage (F&B) team at the forefront serving our members and guests during special club events. Requirements Job Summary The Banquet Bar Supervisor is responsible for overseeing bar operations during catered events and banquets, ensuring exceptional guest service, efficient service execution, and compliance with all alcohol service regulations. This role supervises bartending staff, coordinates bar setup and breakdown, manages inventory and supplies, and maintains quality and presentation standards. The Banquet Bar Supervisor works closely with event and catering teams to ensure seamless service and a positive guest experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of two years of work experience serving/bartending in a restaurant or food establishment.
  • The ability to read, write and execute basic math skills.
  • Must be at least 21 to tend the bar.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Required to stand for long periods and walks, climbs stairs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, bends, stretches and twists or reaches.
  • Carries and balances a tray to get food to the designated table.
  • Pushes, pulls or lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Continuous repetitive motions.
  • Ability to work in hot, humid, fast-paced, and noisy environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Alcoholic beverage certification is a plus.
  • Food safety certification is a plus.
  • Country Club or Golf Club experience is a plus but not required.
  • CPR/AED and/or First Aid Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a bar product and supplies inventory system for alcoholic beverages including wines, non alcoholic beverages, mixers, glassware, paper and other bar supplies.
  • Plans promotional strategies and materials; develops recipes to improve the beverage program for members and guests.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of bar areas, glassware and equipment through regular inspections.
  • Develops standard operating procedures to help assure that bars are set up and operated efficiently and create a positive hospitality environment for staff and members.
  • Maintains an adequate supply of liquors, wines, beer and other beverages with an effective inventory management system.
  • Assists in recruiting, training, scheduling and supervising bar personnel according to established club procedures.
  • Maintains and keeps current beverage-related training manuals.
  • Assures that all laws applicable to beverage operations are consistently followed.
  • Works with the banquet manager and team members to ensure efficient beverage service across all club outlets for special functions.
  • Interacts with purchasing department personnel regarding the procurement and receiving of beverage products and supplies.
  • Inspects to ensure that the clubs sanitation, safety, energy management, preventative maintenance and other programs are implemented and compiled with as they apply to beverage operation.
  • Assists in monitoring labor forecasts and budgets; takes corrective action as necessary.
  • Develops financial records and reports as required.
  • Works with the accounting department to ensure that all record-keeping procedures are consistently followed.
  • Produces shift reports containing information on member-related issues, cover counts and any other concerns occurring during that time period.
  • Assists with private parties and service in food and beverage outlets when necessary.
  • Plans and develops training programs and professional development opportunities for themself and other beverage personnel.
  • Keeps current with changing member preferences and industry trends relative to the beverage operation.
  • Conducts scheduled meetings with service staff.
  • Attends staff and management meetings.
  • Serves as bartender as needed; this position involves regular hands-on work.
  • Assures that the club policies and procedures for selling alcoholic beverages are consistently followed in all beverage outlets and at all club functions.
  • Creating and batching specialty cocktails.
  • Ability to ring transactions and submit reports using front- and back-end POS systems, including billing duties.
  • Organizing and maintaining inventory areas.
  • Ability to accurately operate inventory systems, including scanning and documenting product in and out.
  • Completes other appropriate work assignments as requested.
