The Palmer House, a Hilton Hotel is looking for their next Banquet Bar Porter! Located in the heart of Chicago's Theater District, the iconic Palmer House is renowned for its timeless elegance and world-class service. The ideal candidate will be an energetic hospitality professional with at least one year of banquet experience in a hotel, event center, or high‑volume catering environment. They possess foundational liquor knowledge, including the ability to identify common spirits, mixers, and bar setups, and can efficiently support bartenders in preparing for events of varying size and style. Flexible availability is a must due to the ever changing banquet events. A strong work ethic, teamwork mindset, and commitment to delivering exceptional guest service are essential! As a Banquet Bar Porter, you will be responsible for setting up, restocking, and polishing glassware for the bar, as well as supporting the Bartender in accordance to established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability. Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will be an energetic hospitality professional with at least one year of banquet experience in a hotel, event center, or high‑volume catering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and breaking down bar stations for banquet events
  • Stock and Replenish bar glassware, garnishes, and supplies
  • Transport taps, replace and perform routine maintenance on beer kegs
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas, storage rooms, and equipment
  • Support bartenders during banquets to ensure smooth service
  • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
