About the position

The Bank Teller position at Access Federal Credit Union involves handling financial transactions, providing customer service, and maintaining accurate records. Responsibilities

  • Perform teller duties including receiving checks and cash for deposit, verifying amounts, and examining checks for endorsements.
  • Present a helpful, cheerful, and professional image when interacting with members in person or over the phone.
  • Provide information to members about Credit Union products and attempt to cross-sell services.
  • Provide members with account balances and loan payoff figures.
  • Process incoming mail and telephone transfers, assist members, or transfer calls to appropriate departments.
  • Balance cash drawer daily and maintain Teller Balance Record according to procedures.
  • Collect funds on returned checks.
  • Understand the Bank Secrecy Act and complete currency transaction reports as necessary.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with established Credit Union Quality Standards.
  • Keep current knowledge of all services and products offered by the Credit Union and cross-sell them when possible.
  • Display a pleasant, professional style on the job and adhere to company policies including the Code of Ethics.
  • Complete all training designed to enhance capabilities, including in-house and outside training.
  • Maintain knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations as well as Credit Union Bylaws and Policies to ensure compliance.
  • Travel to other branches when necessary and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills.
  • High school diploma or GED with strong Math and English skills.
  • Some accounting knowledge.
  • Friendly and personable with the ability to communicate with diverse individuals.
  • Computer knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
