About The Position
At Brass Bird Coffee , we take pride in creating fresh, seasonal, and beautiful pastries that reflect the spirit of California’s Central Coast. We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Baking Assistant to join our production team and help bring our daily pastry offerings to life at our new location in Santa Barbara, CA.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or bakery preferred
- Passion for baking and a strong work ethic
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Able to follow recipes and take direction
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation, portioning, and baking of pastries, breads, and other baked goods
- Support our lead pastry chef and team with scaling recipes, prepping ingredients, and maintaining production flow
- Ensure quality, consistency, and cleanliness in all baking tasks
- Help with organizing storage, and maintaining a clean, food-safe kitchen
- Work early morning shifts to help ensure our pastry case is full, fresh, and beautiful each day
