We’re looking for a quality-minded dessert lover to ensure the integrity of our Bakery operations, build a small team of Associates and focus on outstanding execution of department operations. Working with the Bakery Manager, you will help create an exceptional customer experience and support a successful, sustainable department, taking ownership and making decisions that will have a genuine impact on store success and customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities include: Assisting the Bakery Manager in running a smooth and efficient operation Ordering, displaying and maintaining inventory for items sold in the Bakery Helping to train, develop and motivate Associates and build a strong, cohesive team Maintaining a clean and sanitary department and adhering to proper food-handling procedures Providing friendly, amazing service to every customer Why Dierbergs is different Our culture makes us unique. You’ll enjoy benefits rarely found in the food service or retail industry What you need to succeed: 2+ years of food-service experience (bakery, restaurant or quick serve), preferably in a supervisory role Business acumen and excellent time management skills A thorough understanding of and commitment to food safety Ability to work in varied temperature controlled environments (refrigerator and freezer) Strong attention to detail, business acumen, self-motivation and the ability to work independently The flexibility to work a varied schedule that includes weekends and holidays Physical Requirements Lifting & Carrying - Up to 35 lbs. occasionally Pushing & Pulling- Up to 15 lbs. of force occasionally Occasional - sit, kneel, stoop, squat, climb, overhead reach, & power grip Frequent - stand, walk, head turn, handling, side reach, & pinch Constant -forward reach, grasp, finger manipulation, & feel What’s in it for you?
