Position Summary: The Baker 1 team member is an entry-level role on the Bake team and serves as the primary development pathway into the Baker 2 position. The Bake team’s goal is to bake and produce all inclusions and variegates for our finished ice cream. As a Baker 1, team members begin learning foundational skills in ingredient preparation, product handling, food safety, recipe understanding, and production flow. A key responsibility of this role is preparing and organizing inclusions for the Spin team by cutting, breaking, or processing product to meet Spin-ready specifications. The Baker 1 team member supports production by ensuring inclusions are prepped accurately, stored efficiently, and ready when needed.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working in commercial food preparation, manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions
  • Basic counting and math skills for measuring and portioning ingredients
  • Able to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Clear communication and solid teamwork skills
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing facility and alongside other teams
  • Reliable, consistent, and able to follow safety, sanitation, and quality guidelines
  • Shows curiosity, willingness to learn, and interest in growing within the Bake department
  • Fluency in English

Responsibilities

  • Assess equipment, tools, and ingredient needs at the start of each assigned project
  • Prepare inclusions for spinning using semi-automated cutters, hand tools, or manual methods
  • Support the bake process by following the daily production schedule and completing recipe steps appropriate for the Baker 1 level
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace to support consistent, high-quality production following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Troubleshoot basic issues such as ingredient outages, supply needs, or minor product inconsistencies, escalating to a Baker 3 or Supervisor as needed
  • Store, label, and organize sub-assemblies after each project to support efficient production flow for both Bake and Spin teams
  • Accurately complete daily ingredient tracking sheets, work orders, and other required documentation
  • Manually clean equipment and tools as part of daily sanitation procedures
  • Contribute to completing the End-of-Day Checklist
  • Accurately enter production completion and quantities into NetSuite, verifying amounts and work order numbers to support inventory and reporting accuracy
