About The Position

Stew Leonard’s, a family-owned and operated fresh food store founded in 1969, has locations in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Stew’s earned its nickname, the “Disneyland of Dairy Stores” because of its country-fair atmosphere, with costumed characters and animated entertainment throughout the store that keep children entertained while parents shop. Baker Bread Assistant Hourly Part - Time – starting rate $17.25 to $20.13 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. Job Summary: Baker Assistants are responsible for assisting the whole department, as needed. Baker Assistants work directly under the Bakery Team Leader, aiding in production on the bread, oven, and bagel sides of the department.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
1 to 3 years’ experience, with extensive product knowledge
Safely use/operate mixer, proofer, bagel oven, knives, scales, and wrapping machine
Great customer service
Good oral communication skills
Great work ethic

Self-motivator

Responsibilities

Bake breads, bagels, cookies, muffins, etc.
Aid in bagel production
Exam products on the floor, being mindful of production dates
Stock/maintain shelves and cases
Provides excellent customer service by greeting and responding to customers
Adhere to all health, sanitation, and safety regulations
Assist in other duties, as assigned
