Requirements

Heavy equipment operator experience or equivalent training
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work safely and efficiently on job sites

Responsibilities

Operate a backhoe or shovel to dig for sewer, water, and gas line repairs or new installations
Break concrete and prepare areas for digging
Assist technicians with repair work on-site
Backfill serviced areas, clean up, seed, and restore job sites
Remove old sewer lines and check line flow before completing jobs
Obtain customer approvals for work performed
Maintain and fuel the service vehicle and ensure proper truck stocking
Transport materials and tools and track tool usage
Complete required documentation on services provided and handle any customer payments as needed
