Backhaul Driver - Gainesville
About The Position
US Foods is seeking a Backhaul Driver to join their team. This role involves safely driving trucks to vendors and company drop-off sites, verifying freight, ensuring correct trailer temperatures, and performing pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections. Drivers will earn $32.00 an hour and be part of a company that emphasizes continuous growth, development, and a strong safety culture. Requirements
- Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
- Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
- Willingness to travel 2-3 times per week required
- Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records
Nice To Haves
- Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
Responsibilities
- Safely drive truck to vendors and company drop-off sites
- Verify freight on truck, required trailer temperatures and accuracy of freight with vendors
- Return tractor and trailer to division when route is completed
- Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
