Job Summary: This job delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). It involves advising management on project-level issues, guiding junior engineers, operating with little supervision, and applying knowledge of technical best practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

• 5+ years building production backend systems in Python.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale in high-traffic environments.
• Experience building or supporting feed-based, timeline, or content-driven systems at scale (e.g., social feeds, activity streams, discovery surfaces, or recommendation-driven experiences).
• Strong AWS experience, including infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., CDK) and managed services.
• Experience building and evolving RESTful and GraphQL APIs for mobile and web clients.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and performance tradeoffs.
• Experience implementing observability best practices (logging, metrics, alerting, incident response)
• Strong testing mindset (unit, integration, performance testing for production readiness)
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms like Kafka.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Passion for building reliable systems, continuous learning, and collaborative engineering culture.

Responsibilities

• Delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) (design, implementation, testing, delivery and operations), based on definitions from more senior roles.
• Advises immediate management on project-level issues
• Guides junior engineers
• Operates with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices
• Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions
