Learn more about Delphi and this position by calling the CEO’s digital mind here The Role As our Backend (Product) Engineer, you will architect and build the core systems powering our digital mind architecture. You'll own critical infrastructure components that enable AI-powered insights engines, conversational flow systems, and the scalable backbone supporting thousands of digital minds and millions of conversations.

Requirements

• Python & Performance Mastery: deep expertise in Python development with modern async patterns, performance optimization, and scalable service architecture.
• Systems Architecture Excellence: proven ability to design complex distributed systems with strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, TLS, HTTP) and cloud-native patterns.
• Database & Infrastructure Depth: expertise in PostgreSQL, query optimization, efficient schema design, and hands-on experience architecting AWS solutions (ECS, Lambda, S3).
• Product Engineering Mindset: ability to balance technical excellence with user impact, turning complex requirements into elegant, maintainable systems.
• Observability & Reliability Focus: builds systems with comprehensive monitoring, logging, and self-healing capabilities that support rapid debugging and iteration.

Nice To Haves

• Infrastructure as code (CloudFormation/Terraform), message queuing systems, security expertise (IAM, encryption), containerization, and reactive programming experience.

Responsibilities

• Own Core Infrastructure: architect and build scalable Python/FastAPI services, PostgreSQL data systems, and AWS cloud infrastructure that powers our insights and flow engines.
• Design Distributed Systems: create resilient, high-performance architectures using modern async patterns, caching strategies, and cloud-native solutions.
• Drive Product Impact: collaborate across teams to translate user needs into robust backend systems that enable breakthrough conversational experiences and insights extraction.
