About The Position

We are always accepting ambitious and experienced PHP developer applications to join our collaborative team. Our PHP developers take hard problems and solve them by leveraging open-source code/platforms with your own configuration and custom code. You will have the opportunity to be on the frontline adding value to the project team as you help shape the direction our company takes when creating backend solutions. Use your experience and tools to analyze current code and industry developments, formulate more efficient processes, solve problems, and create a more seamless experience for users. You should have excellent communication, computer, and project management skills. You will also be responsible for integrating many of the front-end elements built by your co-workers into your projects. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary.

Requirements

Lives in the Twin Cities area
Strong knowledge of object-oriented PHP programming
Strong knowledge of PHP web platforms, such as Drupal, Magento, and WordPress
Strong knowledge of the common PHP or web server exploits and their solutions
Understanding of MVC design patterns
Understanding accessibility and security compliance
Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
Proficient understanding of Linux-based systems
Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
Familiarity with limitations of PHP as a platform and its workarounds
Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages
Familiarity with automated deployment strategies
Familiarity with the complete e-Commerce lifecycle
Self-driven. Ability to work independently or within a group
2+ years of experience as a developer

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Google Tag Manager, SEO, Google Analytics, and PPC is a plus

Responsibilities

Work within a project team to build website applications in an efficient manner
Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP code
Conduct analysis of website and application requirements and vulnerabilities
Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges
Troubleshoot/debug application and code issues
Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers
Be an advocate for the users and your clients, anticipating what they need before they ask and presenting possible solutions or recommendations
Be an ambassador for August Ash and your team
