About The Position

This position will be a full time Material Handler, and Back-Up High Lift Operator. The person who fills this role will only perform High-Lift Operator duties as needed by supervision. Please read job description below. Core Hours Monday thru Friday, 6:00 am to 2:00 pm. Saturday hours are generally 6:00 am to 12:00 pm. Availability of Saturday hours are dependent on production and staffing needs. Material Handler Duties & Responsibilities Opening product, feeding cheese onto cutting equipment and changing and adjusting cutting equipment. Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF and established safety rules and regulations. Moving pallets, basic cleanup/sweeping and assisting other positions as needed. Ability to pack cheese product into boxes, stack boxes on pallets and inspect packages and boxes for good seals and code dates. Understand and utilize box erecting, case sealing, and labeling equipment. Perform sanitation of the work area and equipment as needed. High Lift Operator Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for operating a high-lift forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack and count materials. Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform order fill and checker duties. Maintain the facilitys equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods. Knowledge/Skills Required Must be able to read and write English. Must have a strong math background and work well with numbers. Must be able to give and accept constructive criticism and work as a team player. Responsible for maintaining a professional image with customers, peers, supervisors and the public. Good organizational and communication skills. Must be capable of reading and understanding customer orders. Must be a self-starter, require limited supervision, and capable of fast-pace work. Should have some mechanical ability in order to make minor equipment adjustments. Must be people oriented and able to work well with others. Must be capable of passing the safety training and operating a double lift forklift. Education & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent preferred . Education beyond High School would be a plus. Forklift experience is desirable. Prior manufacturing and/or packaging experience would also be a plus. Working Conditions Work inside a clean manufacturing environment. Required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and be physically capable of handling weights of up to 100 pounds.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Education beyond High School would be a plus.
Forklift experience is desirable.
Prior manufacturing and/or packaging experience would also be a plus.
