About The Position

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Full-Cycle) Program Director is a pivotal academic leadership role within an elite nursing education team committed to excellence, innovation, and measurable student success. This leader shapes the future of nursing education by advancing academic quality, strengthening clinical partnerships, and driving exceptional student outcomes — including NCLEX performance and program satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Instruction, the Program Director holds comprehensive responsibility for the strategic leadership, administration, and continuous improvement of the BSN program. This includes curriculum integrity, accreditation compliance, faculty performance and development, student progression and retention, and overall program effectiveness. The ideal candidate is a mission-driven nursing leader who combines academic rigor with operational excellence and whose professional philosophy aligns with the university’s commitment to accessible, diversified, innovative, and high-quality education.

Requirements

  • A master’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university that includes coursework in nursing, education, or administration
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience leading a nursing program or related discipline
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a full-time faculty member in a pre- or post-licensure nursing program
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience teaching in an online teaching and learning environment
  • A minimum of four (4) years of continuous full-time experience, or equivalent, as a registered nurse providing direct patient care in geriatrics, medical-surgical, mental health psychiatric nursing, obstetrics, or pediatrics within the past five (5) years
  • Must hold a valid, active license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Action-oriented, innovative, and flexible
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work within a deadline-oriented environment
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be physically present in the office (unless otherwise noted)
  • Employment verification will be conducted to validate work experience per accreditation standards
  • Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check
  • Official transcripts are required prior to hire
  • Degrees earned outside the United States must be evaluated by a recognized credential evaluation service to determine U.S. degree equivalency and applicable subject-area coursework
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and must maintain work authorization throughout employment

Responsibilities

  • Advance the university’s and program’s mission through systematic evaluation of student learning and continuous improvement of measurable outcomes
  • Lead a culture of data-informed decision-making focused on retention, completion, and NCLEX success
  • Monitor, assess, and implement strategies utilizing ATI resources across the curriculum to promote continuous improvement in NCLEX performance
  • Oversee faculty recruitment, credentialing, development, mentorship, and evaluation in alignment with institutional and accreditation standards
  • Provide leadership within a shared governance framework to promote faculty engagement and academic excellence
  • Lead the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous refinement of the curriculum in accordance with institutional policy and accreditation requirements
  • Ensure all program publications, reports, and representations comply with institutional and regulatory standards
  • Generate required communications, reports, and substantive change documentation for accreditation commissions and regulatory agencies
  • Direct the day-to-day operations of the program, including student advisement and oversight of direct-care clinical education
  • Ensure program effectiveness, student satisfaction, and alignment with industry standards and best practices
