About The Position

- The BA/BS Counselor at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing comprehensive counseling services to clients, utilizing evidence-based practices to support their mental health and well-being. This role involves assessing client needs, developing personalized treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions to promote positive outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a counseling or mental health setting.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and age groups.
  • Previous experience in developing and implementing treatment plans.
  • Familiarity with crisis intervention and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
  • Proficiency in using counseling techniques and therapeutic interventions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Competence in using electronic health records and other relevant software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle stressful situations calmly.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide counseling services using evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support clients in achieving their mental health goals.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, documenting progress and any changes in treatment plans.
  • Participate in case conferences and contribute to the development of best practices within the center.
  • Offer crisis intervention and support to clients in emergency situations.
  • Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions and available resources.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in mental health counseling and integrate new knowledge into practice.
  • Uphold the ethical standards and confidentiality requirements of the counseling profession.
