About The Position

B52 Manufacturing Engineer (Associate and Experienced) Company: Boeing Aerospace Operations San Antonio Engineering team is seeking a B52 Manufacturing Engineer (Associate and Experienced) to support B-52 CERP on 2nd shift, but flexible with some 1st shift support. The B-52 Commercial Engine Replacement Program (CERP) will upgrade the baseline B-52 with new commercial or non-developmental-type engines to extend the service life of the B-52. This position can support various Military, Surveillance & Bomber(MS&B) programs on the San Antonio site. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in San Antonio. This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
  • 2+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • 2+ years of experience utilizing professional/technical writing skills, teaming successfully to solve technical issues.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ or more years aircraft (or similar) maintenance knowledge
  • 1+ or more years related Shipside experience (supporting operations and quality)
  • 1+ years’ experience with IVT.
  • Microsoft Office Suite Skills.
  • Experience with CATIA.
  • Experience with GoldEsp .

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of Parts, Materials and Processes related to Structures, mechanical systems.
  • Understand machining processes, CNC requirements, and fastener installations
  • Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing planning systems and ship side installation support preferred.
  • Develops, identifies and implements conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build.
  • Leads and implements manufacturing plans and nonconformance plans.
  • Conducts producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements.
  • Assists in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices.
  • Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule.
  • Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.
  • Validates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problems.
  • Implements lean principles and technologies.
  • Work with Industrial Engineering and IPT to sequence and integrate systems hardware installations with modification plan
