About The Position

The B2B Sales Consultant at Staples is responsible for prospecting and acquiring new small to medium business customers within a defined territory. This high-velocity sales role involves engaging with prospects through various channels, including phone, video, and face-to-face interactions, to effectively communicate Staples' value propositions and close sales. The consultant will also onboard new accounts and work closely with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with new programs.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of successful sales experience or success as a Staples B2B Sales Associate.
  • 3+ years experience in PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong drive and desire to win with a proven track record in business development.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations virtually and in person.
  • Consultative selling, solutions selling, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong business, financial, operations, and technology acumen.
  • Ability to analyze business trends to create tailored solutions for prospects.
  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and self-discipline.

  • Industry knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Hunt within defined territory to prospect and win new small to medium business customers.
  • Set the required number of appointments each week with decision makers.
  • Utilize professional selling skills to discover prospects' needs and effectively communicate Staples' value propositions.
  • Overcome objections and close sales using prescribed selling tools.
  • Work with customer support and category specialists to progress deals to closure.
  • Implement and ramp new accounts to drive compliance with programs.
  • Create lasting customer relationships that encourage repeat purchases.
  • Integrate feedback from prospects into sales strategies.
  • Communicate daily with prospects in a professional manner.
