About The Position

The Azure Systems Administrator I is responsible for the daily maintenance, management, and optimization of the company’s Azure cloud environment, including Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, Autopilot, Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online and various SaaS platforms. The Azure System Administrator I role focuses on ensuring the Azure cloud environment, including Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, Autopilot, Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online and various SaaS platforms are secure, reliable, scalable and aligned with organizational objectives and security policies, The Azure System Administrator I will be key in positioning the company to support scalable operations through continuous improvements of automation, process streamlining, policy deployment, SaaS integrations and new solution deployments. This role will work closely with the Director of IT Cloud Operations and the Associate System Administrator to support the IT function and provide inter-departmental support.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology required; Bachelor in Information Technology
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate cross-functionally via phone, Email, Team’s chat, video calls, Etc.
  • Schedule flexibility in support of project deliverables.
  • Strong Microsoft AD and Azure skills.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in automating business processes using Power Shell within cloud environments using Power Automate to enhance operational efficiency and drive innovation.
  • Skilled with the Windows Deployment Service.
  • Ability to work independently and track task deliverable dates and timelines.
  • Ability to follow complex business processes that require 100% accuracy.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Demonstrate strong initiative and drive to meet overall business objectives and goals.
  • Ability to take ownership in leading projects to ensure that project deliverables are completed on time and meet expectations
  • Successfully completed, or will complete within one (1) year of hire, an approved Azure administration course.
  • Possesses some practical, hands-on experience working in Cloud environments, SaaS tools, Entra AD and/or Office 365
  • Ability to work with confidential data in a professional manner.
  • Ability to write clearly and accurately document activities.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage work and deadlines independently.
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations based on national and local trends and to design processes that enhance services while maximizing college resources.
  • Demonstrated effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Azure cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, host-pools, storage accounts, networks, and other Azure services.
  • Manage, troubleshoot, and process change requests in Office 365 and Microsoft 365 Exchange admin center.
  • Manage and monitor the deployment, redeployment and configuration policies of Windows 11 endpoints through the use of Intune and Autopilot.
  • External vendors-- alerts and incidents.
  • Troubleshoot, escalate, and engage with internal and external partners.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices in Azure, SharePoint, Office 365 and Windows endpoints.
  • Promote a culture of security in alignment with corporate security posture.
  • Triage critical security events with internal and external security teams.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Azure CLI, Power BI and Azure Automation to streamline administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Assist in the implementation and management of backup and disaster recovery solutions for Azure resources and Office 365 to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Maintain and create SOP and knowledge base documentation to provide consistency of work-flow process management.
  • Work closely with IT Directors, Helpdesk Techs, developers, and stakeholders to understand their requirements and assist with cloud-based solutions that meet their needs.
  • Support helpdesk technicians with ticket escalation and facilitate cross-department communication.
  • Manage Passwordless Authentication, MFA, WHFB (Windows Hello for Business) and conditional access policies.
  • Demonstrates exceptional, proactive initiative when problem solving, solutioning and engagement of appropriate resources.
