Education at the Frick seeks to welcome everyone by removing barriers to engagement, in fulfillment of Henry Clay Frick’s wish for a museum “to which the entire public shall forever have access.” The inaugural Ayesha Bulchandani Post-Baccalaureate Education Internship provides a superb opportunity to participate in many day-to-day aspects of museum education work in a small, dynamic department. The intern will also gain broad exposure to museum work beyond the Education Department and acquire professional skills relevant for future careers in the arts, cultural organizations, and education. During the summer months, the intern’s primary responsibility will be to research, write, and deliver gallery talks to the general public. Beyond the summer, the intern’s responsibilities will shift to support functions of the Education Department across all program areas. The intern will play an important public-facing role by supporting and staffing programs, such as studio workshops, lectures, seminars, gallery talks, online programs, and free nights, as well as the Guided Visits and Private Tours programs. The intern will also provide administrative support for the department, including managing data for reports and organizing research files. Additionally, the intern will participate in a wide range of enrichment sessions, including introductions to the permanent collection and the resources of the Frick Art Research Library, opportunities to interact with staff across the institution, and a summer reading group on topics in the field of museum education.
