About The Position

Reveille Group is a strategic advisory consulting firm with offices in Washington, DC. We are focused on providing our diverse clients with innovative solutions including technical analysis and development. We are looking to bring on an integral team member to provide support for an existing project. You will function as a managerial AWS subject matter expert for a federal agency. Please note this is a remote position - you must be in the contiguous United States. The Agency Office of the Chief Information Officer supports critical system infrastructure and functionality to provide customer support and mission execution. We are seeking an experienced AWS Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and hands-on expertise across cloud initiatives built on Amazon Web Services. The AWS SME will support cloud strategy, design scalable solutions, and ensure adherence to best practices in security, cost optimization, and performance.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of IT experience focused on AWS
  • Deep expertise in AWS architecture and services
  • Strong experience with: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) Networking, security, and identity management Monitoring and logging tools
  • Experience with cloud security frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • AWS certifications such as: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
  • Experience in government or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Scripting experience (Python, Bash)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical authority on AWS services and cloud architecture
  • Manage an AWS team
  • Design and review secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions
  • Provide guidance on AWS services such as: Amazon EC2 Amazon S3 AWS Lambda Amazon VPC
  • Lead cloud migrations and modernization efforts
  • Develop and enforce cloud governance, security, and compliance frameworks
  • Mentor engineering teams and review infrastructure-as-code (IaC) implementations
  • Optimize environments for cost, performance, and reliability
  • Support DevOps processes including CI/CD pipelines and automation
