About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Services Engineer to join our team as a part-time 1099 contractor. This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, and experience in managing the build and deployment of .NET, Node.js, and Angular applications and services. You will be responsible for automating cloud infrastructure, building scalable applications, and integrating AWS services using modern frameworks. We are looking for an Independent Contractor (1099) who can be flexible with an “on-call” work schedule as needs increase or decrease.

Requirements

  • Recent proven experience and proficiencies in a similar role
  • Strong proficiency in AWS CloudFormation and AWS CDK.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS SDKs and API integrations.
  • Development experience in .NET (C#), Node.js, and Angular.
  • Familiarity with AWS CodeBuild, CodePipeline, and CI/CD best practices.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, ECS/EKS) and DevOps principles.
  • AWS Certification (Solutions Architect or Developer) preferred.
  • Must be U.S.-based and eligible for 1099 contract work.
  • Must have reliable high speed internet.
  • Must be able to communicate in English. You'll be expected to provide regular updates on your work via our PM tool as well as our twice-weekly Scrum calls.
  • Must be able to provide effective documentation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be a team player and able to dedicate 20+ hours a week when required.
  • Must complete a skills assessment to qualify for the position.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS Certification (Solutions Architect or Developer) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Automation: Design, implement, and maintain AWS CloudFormation templates and AWS CDK constructs for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Develop reusable, modular stacks for multi-environment deployments.
  • CI/CD & CodeBuild: Configure and manage AWS CodeBuild and CodePipeline for automated builds and deployments.
  • Support CI/CD processes in support of application code including but not limited to .NET, Node.js, and Angular.
  • Implement best practices for continuous integration and delivery.
  • Cloud Architecture & Operations: Manage AWS services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, etc.).
  • Optimize performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain IAM policies, encryption, and compliance standards.
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Use CloudWatch, X-Ray, and other tools for observability and incident resolution.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, developers, and architects to deliver robust cloud solutions
