About The Position

HeliService USA is seeking motivated and experienced pilots for our Helicopter Air Ambulance (HAA) operation based in Dayton, Ohio. This position supports both day and night SPIFR HAA flights using Night Vision Goggles (NVGs) and a state-of-the-art AW169 helicopter. Requirements

  • FAA Commercial Rotorcraft-Helicopter Certificate (ATP preferred)
  • FAA First Class Medical Certificate
  • NVG qualification or recent NVG experience (within 24 months)
  • Instrument Helicopter Rating
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or have legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Total Time (Helicopter): 2000 hours
  • PIC Time (Helicopter): 1000 hours
  • Night Flying: 100 hours
  • Actual or Simulated Instrument: 75 hours
  • Complete annual training as required by company policy and law on an annual basis in a timely manner.
  • Read all newsletters and bulletins to remain current on policies, procedures, and developments as well as to meet all company compliance standards.
  • Employment at HeliService USA is contingent on successful completion of training and release to the line by the Director of Operations or Chief Pilot at the completion of the required line training period.
  • Pre-employment drug screening must be completed and approved in accordance with DOT/FAA regulations prior to hire.

Nice To Haves

  • NVG Time: 50 hours (preferred)
  • EMS or HAA operational experience
  • Previous Part 135 instructor or Check Pilot
  • Previous Part 135 experience
  • CRM and AMRM training background
  • Familiarity with Leonardo AW169 platform
  • Strong understanding of FAA regulations, SMS, and risk management

Responsibilities

  • Conduct SPIFR and NVG operations using a state-of-the-art glass cockpit AW169 in accordance with 14 CFR Part 135 regulations and company SOPs.
  • Support HAA operations in collaboration with medical crews, maintaining timely and safe transport of critically ill or injured patients.
  • Participate in operational planning, risk assessments, and pre-/post-flight inspections.
  • Foster strong CRM practices and acts as PIC while maintaining situational awareness and flight safety.
