AVP, Mortgage Underwriting & Secondary Execution Location: 231 Hill Rd, Rome NY 13341 Starting Rate - $132,960.84 to $166,201.04 annual base salary depending on experience Status: Full Time Who Are We? Purpose The AVP, Mortgage Underwriting & Secondary Execution provides hands-on leadership for the secondary market and underwriting functions, ensuring strong credit quality, regulatory compliance, and alignment with AmeriCU’s mission, values, and strategic goals. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop the secondary market and mortgage underwriting teams while promoting a strong MVP 1‑Team culture Oversee policies, programs, systems, and software that support efficient, compliant, and timely credit decisions Manage mortgage interest rate risk for portfolio and secondary market loans to ensure competitive pricing and profitability Ensure compliance with all residential mortgage regulations, secondary market standards, and documentation requirements Oversee vendor, correspondent, and broker relationships to ensure quality, compliance, and risk standards are met Monitor mortgage quality, pipeline management, rate locks, and investor delivery timelines Underwrite mortgages within assigned authority Develop, maintain, and implement lending policies, procedures, and quality control programs Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to support product development, pricing, and strategy Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and execution of departmental business plans Prepare reports and ensure successful audits and regulatory examinations Represent the Lending Department with vendors, committees, and internal stakeholders Why You’ll Love The Role of AVP, Mortgage Underwriting & Secondary Execution Make a real impact: Play a key leadership role shaping mortgage strategy, credit quality, and secondary market success for a growing, member-focused credit union. Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the secondary market and mortgage underwriting teams while promoting a strong MVP 1‑Team culture
