About The Position

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join a team as an AVP, Complex E&S Claims . In this role, you will manage a portfolio of complex, high-severity Excess & Surplus (E&S) admitted and non-admitted claims from inception through resolution. This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week in the office.

Requirements

Minimum of 8 years of complex claims handling experience, with a strong focus on E&S or specialty lines
Proven experience managing high-exposure and litigated claims
Strong knowledge of coverage analysis and policy interpretation
Demonstrated ability to manage defense counsel and litigation strategy effectively
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills
Ability to independently manage a high-volume, complex caseload

Nice To Haves

Juris Doctor (JD) highly preferred; industry designations such as CPCU, AIC, or SCLA are a plus

Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of 120-140 complex, high-severity E&S claims, including a significant volume of litigated cases
Conduct detailed coverage analysis and apply policy language to determine liability and exposure
Investigate claims by reviewing documentation and coordinating with insureds, brokers, and legal counsel
Establish and maintain accurate reserves in accordance with company guidelines
Develop and execute strategic plans for claim resolution, including negotiation and settlement
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure timely and effective claim handling
Monitor litigation and manage defense counsel to ensure optimal outcomes
Maintain compliance with all regulatory and company standards
