About The Position

Requirements

  • Hold a valid FAA-issued A&P certificate
  • Meet all FAA and safety Requirements
  • Familiar with, read, and understand company, manufacturer, and wire-diagram manuals, including schematics
  • Possess basic avionics skills
  • Work history demonstrates being a self-starter, working well in a team environment, and effectively using aircraft manuals to troubleshoot and repair aircraft avionics and electrical systems
  • Possess a valid, unrestricted driver’s license
  • Have a minimum set of tools (see minimum tool list)
  • Problem-solving and organizational skills are required
  • Work varying shifts including, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Exercise good judgment in working with people in a team environment as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety
  • Comfortably lift 60 lbs. routinely, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • This is a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position

Nice To Haves

  • Additional experience and training in any of the following is preferred:
  • Graduated from an accredited avionics school
  • Military training in avionics or electronics
  • Associate's degree or higher in electronics
  • Eighteen months’ experience in the avionics industry

Responsibilities

  • Meet all FAA and safety-related Requirements
  • Effectively troubleshoot all aircraft systems
  • Make timely, critical decisions regarding aircraft safety
  • Responsible for proficiency in all documentation and paperwork, including parts paperwork
  • In a hangar environment, a technician will be performing avionics inspections, routine maintenance (e.g., FOQA downloads), and troubleshooting systems
  • Other duties as assigned
