As an Avionics Technician III, you will lead the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics systems. You will also mentor junior technicians and ensure all work complies with regulatory standards The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of avionics systems and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to understand and interpret basic applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; ability to route wires per technical drawings.
  • Advanced skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, wiring installation, soldering, and crimping techniques.
  • Ability to deploy for an extended amount of time to various OCONUS operating locations.
  • Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
  • Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
  • Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays, and shift schedules as required.
  • Current/ valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally.
  • Willing to deploy OCONUS on an approximate 60/60 rotation.
  • An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Avionics, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Expert soldering skills and use of advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with FCC and FCC General Radio Operator License (GROL).
  • Basic understanding of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and/or pitot static equipment.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation and maintenance of avionics equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair complex avionics issues.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing of avionics systems.
  • Document all maintenance activities accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with FCC, FAA, and company standards.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient work area.
