About The Position

Avionics Technician-Ground Test Inspector (GTI) will be responsible for the planning, execution and validation of Ground Tests in the Final Assembly Line. This includes the demonstration of conformity within aircraft systems to the design specifications through attestation in the Airbus Test System (ESAO). Initiate actions to isolate, document and ultimately eliminate any deviations detected. Airbus is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner (per DoDI 1322.29). This 180-day program allows transitioning service members to leverage their military technical expertise in a high-precision aerospace environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • Ability to successfully complete trainings provided by Airbus Health & Safety
  • General aircraft familiarization
  • Quality Training
  • 2 years minimum experience as an Aircraft Avionics Technician with a focus on aircraft systems (electrical preferred).
  • 2 years minimum of experience in trouble shooting on aircraft systems.
  • Knowledge of station safety, quality (clean as you go / Foreign Object Debris) and OSHA regulations.
  • Keep tools and support equipment in safe operational conditions at all times.
  • Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify markings and digital outputs on calibrated tools. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions
  • Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings. Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment.
  • Working on jigs at the fuselage at a height of 15 feet. Able to work on hydraulic lifts sometimes at a height of up to 40 feet.
  • Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20 lbs./ while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Confined Space: able to enter and exit a 12" x 22" passage and work through a 9.7" x 17.7" opening while using a respirator within a confined space for various lengths of time.
  • Heights: able to work at heights of approximately 40 feet on various types of platforms and lifts for various lengths of time
  • Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas and on the shop floor.
  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on.

Nice To Haves

  • Training from a vocational school or previous employer in the use of application tools and in application techniques.
  • Experienced in Quality Inspector on avionics systems.
