About The Position

As an Avionics Manufacturing Engineer (Harnessing) at Impulse, you will own the build and testing of harnessing in production across our vehicles. Your expertise will directly impact the reliability and performance of the systems we send into orbit and beyond. Leveling will be commensurate with experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelors' degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of demonstrated manufacturing experience with harnessing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in harness manufacturing for space applications
  • Experience in hardware development for space applications.
  • Proficient in mechanical design using Siemens/NX
  • Background in design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and continuous improvement methods for harnessing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, qualify and optimize manufacturing processes for harnessing.
  • Collaborate with harnessing design engineers to ensure manufacturability, drawing review and DFM/DFA of harnessing.
  • Own work instructions for harness manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on quality and long-term reliability.
  • Provide day-to-day support to harnessing technicians on the production floor.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and drive implementation of corrective actions for non-conformances.
  • Support environmental and functional testing in production.
  • Optimize production rate, yield and cost of wire harness production.
  • Ensure timely delivery of harnessing to Integration team.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in harness manufacturing to drive innovation.
