About The Position
AVID tutor will regularly facilitate small tutorial groups using AVID methodologies under the supervision of the AVID elective teacher. The AVID tutor will serve as an example of a motivated, organized and successful college student.
Requirements
- Personable, outgoing, and motivated
- Prompt and reliable
Nice To Haves
- A current college student (preferred)
- Proficient in high school math skills (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Attend required trainings
- Manage and facilitate small groups of students
- Maintain confidentiality
- Provide a positive role model
- Maintain appropriate mentor relationships with students
- Communicate effectively
- Evaluate and provide feedback to student work
- Assist AVID elective teacher
- Participate in AVID field trips, motivational activities, and site team meetings (as needed)
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or coordinator
