About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Aviation Planning Intern - Spring 2026 to join our Melbourne, FL office. ABOUT US AtkinsRéalis is a world-class engineering services and nuclear organization. Requirements

  • 0-2 Years experience in a related technical field.
  • Must have completed 60 hours towards a related degree from an accredited college/university by the start of the internship (Spring 2026).
  • Interest in airside and landside aviation projects is desired
  • Good interpersonal skills and capable of developing technical writing, and communications skills is required.
  • Microsoft and CAD skills required.
  • Capability to research and synthesize airport data with directions from senior staff.

Nice To Haves

  • AviPLAN, Canva, GIS experience is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and evaluation of airport planning projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and AviPLAN.
  • Learn, review and apply Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circulars (ACs) and other regulatory standards to ensure airfield designs meet current requirements.
  • Support data collection, organization, and analysis related to aircraft operations, runway usage, airfield geometry, and many other facets of aviation planning.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, planning memos, and client deliverables.
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate on project tasks, both independently and in group settings.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new tools, processes, and industry best practices.
  • Upholds ethics and standards of conduct.
