About The Position

The AV Events team, a collective of professionals providing AV technical pre-production, equipment recommendations, and live event technical execution, is seeking an AV Events Specialist. This role involves acting as the primary contact for technical support in premier screening theaters/event production spaces, including virtual and hybrid events on Google Meet and Zoom platforms. The AV Events Specialist will serve as a Technical Director, Lead Video Engineer, and/or Technical Production Manager, directing the setup of video systems, operating the Video Switcher, and managing overall show production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, industry-related experience, or certifications (AVIXA CTS, CompTIA A+)
  • Customer service experience
  • Audio, Video, and Networking Signal Flow and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with Video Routers: Evertz, Blackmagic, Crestron
  • Knowledge of Video Switchers: Panasonic AV-HS Series, Blackmagic, Ross Carbonite, Barco
  • Experience with Video Recording Devices: PIX, AJA KiPro, Blackmagic HyperDeck
  • Experience with Audio Mixers: Yamaha TF, QL series, Mackie, Shure
  • Knowledge of Microphones/RF: Shure QLX, ULX series, Sennheiser, Lectrosonics
  • Experience with Lighting Boards: ETC Element, Leprecon, Chauvet
  • PTZ Cameras: Panasonic AW-HE series + controller, Logitech
  • Cameras: Sony XDCAM series, Panasonic P2 series, Blackmagic
  • Misc: Perfect Cue, Countdown clock, Internet Clicker, D'San, Epiphan Pearl
  • Knowledge of Zoom, Google Suite, Google Meet, Google Slides, Slack, Dante Controller, Smaart 8, Mbox/Qlab/Playback Pro/Quicktime, wireless workbench
  • Detail-oriented and motivated self-starter
  • Ability to prioritize departmental functions and meet deadlines
  • Adaptability and ability to work well with varied personalities and teams across the enterprise
  • High level of professionalism, emotional intelligence, and ability to maintain composure under pressure (particularly with A-list talent or executives)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance but willing to ask the right questions when needed
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Attentive to tickets and Slack channels, responding in a timely and concise manner

Responsibilities

  • Act as event production Technical Director, Lead Video Engineer, and/or Technical Production Manager, adapting to show needs
  • Set up, configure, operate, and facilitate support for event production spaces
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all audio, video, and broadcast production needs
  • Use and follow the run-of-show document as a guide for proper show flow details
  • Partner with other crew members on the execution of elements before and during shows
  • Attend pre-show production meetings to review responsibilities
  • Ensure testing of all show playback elements for proper playout
  • Ensure all switchers, graphics, mixers, microphones, and ancillary gear are in working order
  • Understand roles and responsibilities of an AV production team on events
  • Reset space after events to pre-production standards
  • Note any equipment failures and escalate to the AV team through the ticket system
  • Previous experience supporting hybrid and virtual event platforms and workflows
  • Assist with inventory management and quality control for client-owned equipment
