About The Position

In this role it is expected that this individual demonstrates leadership qualities both within and outside of the Network Engineering Team. This would include participating in IS projects where audio visual resources and expertise are required as well as understanding the touchpoints with the firms network infrastructure and working tightly with the Network Engineering team. This role is a technical lead in A/V technologies and in support of the firms User Support Team as well as network engineers. Responsible for the administration, support, monitoring and troubleshooting of the Firm’s Audio Visual, telecommunications and networking infrastructure. This includes Intel servers, remote access, LAN/WAN, Route/switch, SDWan, Internet and voice/data communications systems and circuits but with a strong focus on audio visual components and conference room automation. This role requires a bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of 3-7 years in IT Networking or combination of education and experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, implement, and maintain audio-visual systems across the organization. Work closely with other members of the network engineering team to ensure that all audio-visual systems are integrated with the network infrastructure. Provide technical support for all audio-visual systems. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to audio-visual systems. Develop and maintain documentation related to audio-visual systems. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in audio-visual systems. Support and Maintain Network Infrastructure Support of a Service Level Agreements that articulate uptime and performance commitments. Maintaining procedural and system standards to optimize the firm’s A/V technology. Recommend, test and evaluate new hardware, software and upgrades as directed by management. Responsible for Tier 3 support of A/V Infrastructure and services for ~1,900 users in 18 or more geographic locations. Acts as technical contact for vendors regarding the Firm A/V systems and applications. General understanding of the Firm’s software application systems. Maintain up-to-date product knowledge of pertinent A/V infrastructure software and hardware. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED Knowledge of A/V systems, network integration, testing, maintenance and compatibility in a professional services (preferably a large law firm) environment. Experience with Cisco Networking, Meraki, Poly, Crestron, Extron, Teams, Zoom and other AV technologies. Experience with Windows Server and Hypervisor technologies, VMware VSphere, Hyper-V and Citrix. Experience in Cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud a plus but not required. Interpersonal communication skills necessary to maintain effective relationships with attorneys, clients and staff in person, by e‑mail and telephone. A demonstrated ability to diagnose and solve complex problems involving hardware, software and end users. A proven ability to work within a team and build consensus among peers. Work occasionally requires ability to deal with high stress, tight time constraints, and very demanding users/clients. Must be able to work efficiently and effectively under these conditions. Work frequently requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position. Work frequently requires weekend and evening commitment – problem solving, scheduled and unscheduled outages, upgrades and enhancements as deemed necessary and appropriate. Prior experience in a professional service organization is desirable. Capability to troubleshoot networking problems using network capturing tools such as Wireshark. The salary offered will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to experience level, education/training, and relevant skills.
