The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seeking an Audiovisual (AV) Engineer who acts as a primary technical resource for the university, responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of complex audiovisual systems in academic classrooms, lecture halls, conference rooms, and administrative spaces. This position focuses on system integrity and hardware maintenance, including diagnosing signal flow issues in integrated systems (e.g., Extron/AMX/Crestron), performing preventative maintenance, and leading equipment upgrades to ensure high-availability technology for the university community. Additional responsibilities include consultation with faculty about classroom technology needs and potential solutions, identifying new technologies that will enhance the classroom teaching experience, and serving as a project manager for large and small projects. This position requires strong customer service skills and regular interaction with faculty and staff in the performance of duties as a representative of the ITS department.
