About The Position

The Auxiliary Enterprises Program Manager will oversee the department's daily operations, ensuring effective project management and operational execution. This position will be responsible for coordinating projects, managing timelines, and ensuring that key deliverables are met. The role will also involve managing vendor compliance with contractual objectives and assisting with business development initiatives. This position also manages the division's University mail operations, print and copy services, vending, and asset management. Additionally, the Program Manager will play a key role in developing internal policies and processes, ensuring they align with the department's goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience in project management, contractual oversight, office management or similar service.
  • In lieu of a degree, any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • This position requires a criminal background check.
  • This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.
  • Experience in managing projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring project progress.
  • Ability to manage contracts, including monitoring compliance and ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Knowledge of business development strategies, including market analysis and opportunity identification, to enhance revenue streams and promote growth.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with cross-functional teams, university departments, vendors, and external partners to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Ability to learn new software
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel

  • Experience in Auxiliary or Business Services at a higher education institution.
  • Experience supervising staff.

Responsibilities

  • Contractual Oversight Ensure vendor and auxiliary partner compliance with program and contract objectives, especially financial terms. Maintain accurate files and calendars of important contract dates and deadlines. Assist in developing and compiling progress reports, partner performance evaluations and year end contract reports. Primary point of contact for vending services, virtual bookstore, printing and other partnerships as assigned.
  • Project Management Lead and manage multiple projects within Auxiliary Enterprises, ensuring timely delivery, effective resource management, and successful completion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate project objectives and deliverables. Monitor project progress, address challenges, and ensure alignment with department goals and timelines.
  • Business Development Identify and research new business opportunities to expand revenue streams within Auxiliary Enterprises. Collaborate with university stakeholders to assess market demands and develop innovative services or products. Conduct market analysis and feasibility studies to evaluate the potential for introducing new ventures or partnerships.
  • Operations Management Responsible for daily operational oversight of vending, mail, print, and copy services. Supervise the Coordinator of Auxiliary Enterprises. Serves as backup to the Assistant Director of Operations when needed.
  • Policy and Process Lead Assist Auxiliary Enterprises leadership with researching, developing, and documenting internal policies and procedures for existing and new business endeavors. Review all existing policies and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance. Provide leadership with recommendations for updating existing policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
