About The Position

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting multiple Autotransfusionist to support the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center located at 1601 S.W. Archer Road Gainesville, FL 32608. The work schedule is expected to be Monday-Friday with on call. If you accept employment with Ansible, you must also acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of either Ansible or its customers. Requirements

  • Current Autotransfusionist Certification.
  • Maintain active AHA BLS
  • No sponsorship available.
  • All candidates must be able to: Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Lift up to 20 lbs
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force

Responsibilities

  • Provide autotransfusion (cell saver) services for surgical procedures as scheduled.
  • Review daily OR schedules to identify cases requiring autotransfusion support.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor autotransfusion equipment during procedures.
  • Collect, process, and reinfuse salvaged blood during surgery as appropriate.
  • Accurately track and report the volume of autotransfused blood to anesthesia staff.
  • Break down and dispose of autotransfusion equipment after each case.
  • Maintain a minimum of four complete sets of autotransfusion supplies at all times.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and repair for VA‑owned autotransfusion equipment.
  • Maintain logs and records of equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure readiness of equipment for emergent and scheduled cases.
  • Document autotransfusion services in the VA electronic health record.
  • Participate in quality assurance and safety reporting as required.
  • Comply with all VA infection control, privacy, and patient safety standards.
