About The Position

Join us as a Certified Autotransfusion Tech at the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center located in Gainesville, FL. This is a full-time contract position. W-2 or 1099 employment options available. Duties include: Responsible for checking OR schedule daily for surgical procedures requiring Autotransfusion services. Coordinate scheduled periodic preventative maintenance and repair calls for VA-owned equipment and maintain record of such. Ensure minimum of 4 complete sets of supplies for open heart and autotransfusion cases are available at any given time. Set up and operate autotransfusion pump for surgical procedures other than open heart. Generate records during surgical cases to include time of procedure and amount of autotransfused blood given to anesthesiology for delivery to patient. Handle breakdown of disposable within autotransfusion pump after completion of each procedure. Schedule: Full-time, 8A-4:30P Mon-Fri. 24/7 call rotation. Period of Performance: 5 years (12-month base period w/ 4 renewal options) 4/1/2026-3/31/2031. What we do: Monterey teams with general practice, specialists, and allied health practitioners nationwide to provide local coverage for examinees. We deliver a wide range of medical examination-only services to public sectors and the individuals they serve. Our clients include the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), the Department of Labor, the Department of Defense, and more. Our provider network consists of over 700 providers in various medical specialties and degree types. They conduct diagnostic-only examination services on an as-needed basis. These services may take place in their private office, established clinics located across the country, or during travel opportunities for group screening events. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be board-certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
  • Certified in Perioperative Blood Management Technology (PBMT) administered by the International Board of Blood Management (IBBM).
  • BLS or ACLS required.
  • 10 years of recent autotransfusion experience required.
  • In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
  • Subject to background/security investigation.
  • Must pass TB test.
  • Complete an online onboarding process.
  • Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and COVID-19.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
