As a AV Fleet Service Technician, you will be responsible for the triage, proactive monitoring, and comprehensive operational support of our diverse vehicle fleets deployed across Core Market, Market Entry, and specialized Weather testing environments. Your contributions will be instrumental in identifying, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues swiftly, minimizing downtime, and maximizing data collection from our test vehicles. We are actively seeking highly motivated and experienced Traveling Fleet Service Technicians to serve a pivotal role in ensuring the success and integrity of our critical vehicle testing programs. This dynamic position is designed for individuals who possess a strong blend of hands-on technical expertise, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to strategically coordinate field resources. This role demands a significant commitment to travel, ranging from approximately 50% to 75% to various test sites and markets across the domestic landscape. When not actively traveling, you will be based in our Home Market (Nashville, TN), providing essential support remotely and contributing to crucial internal initiatives such as vehicle upfitting for expanding markets and supporting Owned & Operated (O&O) Autonomous Vehicle Partner markets as needed. Test Fleet Triage & Monitoring: Technical Point of Contact: Serve as the primary technical and service-related point of contact for all issues arising from vehicles operating within our Core Market, Market Entry, and Weather Test programs, providing expert guidance and support. Initial Diagnosis and Triage: Perform initial diagnosis and comprehensive triage of reported vehicle issues, both remotely and potentially on-site, to accurately determine the severity, identify the root cause, and establish the most effective resolution path. Proactive Vehicle Health Monitoring: Actively monitor vehicle health, performance data, and operational status across all assigned test fleets using advanced diagnostic tools and fleet management software to anticipate potential issues. Cross-functional Coordination: Coordinate seamlessly with engineering teams, remote support personnel, and local field teams to ensure the timely and efficient troubleshooting and resolution of all vehicle faults and operational discrepancies. Operational Support & Reporting: Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular, detailed updates and comprehensive reports to key internal stakeholders on test fleet health metrics, emerging issue trends, and all field support activities, ensuring transparent communication and informed decision-making. Process Improvement Identification: Proactively identify and propose opportunities for continuous process improvements related to field service operations and the overall support of our test vehicle fleet, contributing to enhanced efficiency and effectiveness. Non-Travel Week Responsibilities: Vehicle Upfitting: Lead or support the upfitting of vehicles for expanding markets, ensuring vehicles are properly configured and equipped for new operational environments. O&O Market Support: Provide direct support to Owned & Operated (O&O) markets as needed, addressing technical challenges and contributing to the smooth operation of our vehicle fleet in these critical locations.
