About The Position

Group 1 Automotive is a fast-growing leader in automotive retail, and we are looking to add qualified AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN/MECHANIC to our team. Key Responsibilities: Perform high-quality repairs efficiently and accurately, following dealership and factory standards Conduct comprehensive diagnostics, troubleshooting, and testing on automotive systems Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Road-test vehicles to verify successful repairs Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures Provide timely updates to service advisors on repair status and estimated completion times for customer communication Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving automotive technology Uphold company values in all interactions with customers, coworkers, and vendors

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an automotive technician/mechanic
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver license in the state that you will work and a good driving record
  • Must pass background check, MVR, and drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification(s) or certification(s) in different specialized areas such as brakes, electrical/electronic systems or engine performance preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Professional appearance and work ethic
