About The Position

Purpose The Material Handler – GP (Dayshift) is responsible for performing basic material movement, staging, and housekeeping tasks to support production and warehouse operations. This role assists higher-level material handlers by preparing materials, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring safe movement of goods throughout the facility. Work is performed under direct supervision with a focus on learning proper procedures, safety practices, and foundational skills required for advancement. Main Responsibilities Support material handling activities under direct supervision. Assist with movement, staging, and organization of materials. Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment. Provide general support to production and warehouse teams as needed. Specific Duties Move materials using hand trucks, pallet jacks, carts, and other non motorized equipment. Assist with loading and unloading materials under supervision. Stage materials for production based on direction from higher-level material handlers or supervisors. Organize, straighten, and maintain material storage areas. Remove scrap material and debris from work areas as required. Assist in basic packaging and preparation of materials for storage or movement. Help verify visible condition of materials and report any damage or discrepancies. Provide support during cycle counts by pulling materials or organizing locations as directed. Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned areas in clean and orderly condition. Follow all safety rules and proper use of PPE. Perform other duties as assigned by a Level 4, Level 5, or Supervisor. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required. Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or material-handling environment preferred but not required. Successful completion of background check, drug screening, and—if applicable—post offer physical. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to learn and follow written and verbal instructions. Basic understanding of safe material handling practices. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to read labels, basic documentation, and follow direction accurately. Dependable, safety minded, and willing to learn new tasks. Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required.
