The Office of Fleet Management is looking for an ASE Master Certified automotive technician. Key Responsibilities: Performs highly complex automotive mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and diagnostics in an automotive repair and maintenance garage environment. Provides Senior Grade training assistance and mentorship to less experienced automotive mechanics. Observes and advises shop supervisor of the quality of repairs being performed. Performs major mechanical repairs and computer diagnostics on powertrain and engine management systems. Conducts the removal, mechanical repair or replacement of major mechanical component assemblies such as engines, transmissions, transfer cases and drive axle assemblies. Performs the highest level of diagnostics and mechanical repairs on automotive system modules and electronics utilizing the most current diagnostic equipment, utilizes their knowledge and experience to provide expert level mentorship and on the job training to less experienced mechanic to aid in production output. Possess expert level brake systems knowledge and skills. Performs diagnostic analysis of control systems and performs mechanical repairs to correct automotive drivability and functionality issues including drivetrain and driveline components and suspensions. Performs highly complex troubleshooting and mechanical repair and service on automotive heating ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC) with the utilizing the most current service and test equipment. Performs comprehensive vehicle assessments, preventive maintenance procedures including tire rotations, tire mounting and balancing This position is for a ASE Certified Master Level automotive mechanic who possesses excellent leadership qualities and looks forward to being technically challenged.
