About The Position

The Ford Core Vehicle Controls Software team is looking for an engineer to have the responsibility for validating propulsive controls. You will join a team, with the opportunity to develop robust verification methods, write automated test scripts, support test execution, and demonstrate results through data analysis and reporting. What you will be able to do • Perform Software Validation testing, analysis, and reporting for production software primarily in vehicle, with potential for Hardware-in-the-loop testing also • Report issues using automated reporting systems such as JIRA • Store and retain documents and test records according to established Ford guidelines • Implement new or updated design verification methods (DVMs) into the validation process • Develop automated analysis and reporting methods • Maintain test scripts in the version control system

Requirements

  • Testing - Test - Must be capable of performing normal driving procedures on public roads in various conditions and in all Ford produced vehicles; If/when issues or test failures arise must be able to assist with root cause determination
  • Jira - Ability to submit/update Jira issues
  • Testing - Tools - Experience with calibration methodologies and tools (ATI Vision and ETAS INCA); Experience with CAN networks and OBD systems and demonstrated ability to utilize related tools (CANalyzer, PTDiag, etc.)
  • Data Acquisition- Experience with calibration methodologies and tools (ATI Vision and ETAS INCA); Experience with CAN networks and OBD systems and demonstrated ability to utilize related tools (CANalyzer, PTDiag, etc.)
  • Embedded Systems - 1+ years' experience in automotive embedded systems software
  • Data Collection- Experience with calibration methodologies and tools (ATI Vision and ETAS INCA); Experience with CAN networks and OBD systems and demonstrated ability to utilize related tools (CANalyzer, PTDiag, etc.)
  • Embedded Software - 1+ years' experience in automotive embedded systems software
  • 1+ years' experience in automotive embedded systems software

  • Solid understanding of vehicle structure, subsystems, and components (GAS, HEV and BEV)
  • Understanding of Module hardware/Software Architectures (PCM, HCM, TCM, BCM, Satellite processors - ABS, SJB…)
  • Familiar with module emulators and interfaces (M5, M6, A7, A8, etk, xetk)
  • Understanding of testing methodologies and ability to utilize test equipment (multi meter, scope, logic analyzer, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze test results and drive issue resolution, including participating in root cause identification through code review
