About The Position

At Genesis Santa Monica, we’re seeking a motivated Express Service Advisor with approximately 2 years of experience to join our fast-paced service team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, thrives in a high-volume environment, and is looking to grow within the automotive industry. The Express Service Advisor is responsible for ensuring an exemplary experience for express service customers by providing a prompt and friendly greeting, listening to customer needs, preparing accurate repair orders, and communicating clearly in a fast-paced environment. The Express Service Advisor serves as a liaison between the customer and technician, ensuring service needs are understood by the technician and recommended maintenance and services are clearly explained to the customer.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • 18 years or older required
  • All potential employees must pass pre-employment testing including a background check and drug screen

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of prior Automotive Service Advisor experience
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance services (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate Repair Orders showing time, cost and labor estimates, verifying warranty and service contracts and reviewing with clients
  • Help to identify mechanical problems with fact-finding questions and performing and interactive visual inspection arranging road test if necessary
  • Promote the sale of labor, parts and accessories by providing explanation of estimates and obtaining approval for work that is sold
  • Follow the progress of service repairs and provide customers with timely updates
