About The Position

New Vehicle Sales Manager Landmark Ford East (Trucks), Inc., a part of the Landmark Automotive Group in Springfield, Illinois, is a leading automotive dealership dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and a wide selection of quality Ford vehicles, for over 50 years. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced New Vehicle Sales Manager to oversee our new vehicle department and drive profitability. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented leader to join a fast-paced, growing organization. Job Summary: As the New Vehicle Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the overall success of the new truck & SUV department. This includes managing daily operations, leading and motivating the sales team, sourcing, appraising and acquiring inventory, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. You will work closely with the General Manager to develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed departmental goals.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of success as an Automotive Sales Manager or in a similar sales management role.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in automotive sales and acquisitions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Expert knowledge of vehicle sales, dealership operations, and automotive financing.
  • Strong proficiency with CRM software (e.g., VIN Solutions) and inventory management tools (e.g., VAuto, Kelly Blue Book, etc.).
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Oversee all aspects of the new vehicle inventory, including acquisition, preperations, pricing, merchandising, and display.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales plans and processes to drive growth, increase profitability, and meet sales goals.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, train, and motivate, the sales team to ensure high performance and compliance with dealership policies.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure a positive and personalized car-buying experience for every customer. Promptly and professionally handle any customer issues or concerns.
  • Financial Performance: Monitor sales data, track key performance metrics, and manage the department's budget to maximize profitability.
  • Market Awareness: Stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and local market conditions to adjust strategies as needed.
  • Dealer Relations: Work with the manufacturer and dealers to source and acquire the best inventory.
