About The Position

Shottenkirk Chevrolet Waukee is seeking an Experienced Automotive Sales Associate to join our dynamic team in Waukee, IA. In this role, you will leverage your knowledge and passion for the automotive industry to connect with customers, understand their needs, and provide outstanding sales experiences that help them find the perfect vehicle. You will contribute to our dealership's success by driving sales and building long-term relationships with clients. Automotive Sales Associate/Product Specialist Shottenkirk Chevrolet Waukee Shottenkirk Automotive Group is family-owned and has been in business for over 60 years. We currently operate 27 Automotive Dealerships in 6 states and employ over 2,500 people. The Automotive Sales Associate/ Product Specialist is responsible for answering questions about the products and services the dealership offers with the purpose of making customers feel welcome and supported through the car-purchasing process.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an automotive sales associate or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Excellent negotiation and closing abilities.
  • Passion for automobiles and staying informed about the latest industry developments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple customer interactions.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in sales or automotive fields preferred.
  • Enthusiasm and high energy throughout the sales workday
  • Friendly, competitive personality, especially when handling objections & negotiating pricing
  • Strong customer service, communication skills, computer and basic math skills
  • Interest in training additional sales associates once you get up to speed and working in a team environment
  • Clean driving record & valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers to understand their vehicle needs and guide them through the sales process.
  • Present and demonstrate new and used vehicles to clients, highlighting key features and benefits.
  • Negotiate prices, trade-ins, and financing options to close sales effectively and professionally.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current vehicle inventory, promotions, and industry trends.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Collaborate with the finance, service, and management teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets and contribute to team goals.
  • Offer assistance or direction to any customer who enters the car dealership
  • Assist customers in making a purchase decision by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses and needs
  • Work directly with our employees and customers to develop relationships and help to enhance the sales process
  • Explain product performance, application, and benefits to prospective customers
  • Report to the Sales Manager regarding objectives, planned activities, reviews, and analyses
