About The Position

The Automotive Quality Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all quality assurance functions within a plastic injection molding environment serving the automotive industry. This role ensures that all products meet or exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Manager will collaborate cross-functionally to maintain compliance with industry standards and uphold a strong culture of quality excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
  • Extensive experience in quality management within the automotive manufacturing industry
  • Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive quality standards
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with quality tools and methodologies (e.g., root cause analysis, corrective actions)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office 365
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Epicor (ERP/MRP systems) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System aligned with IATF 16949:2016 and automotive industry standards
  • Establish and enforce quality control procedures, specifications, and best practices
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the quality assurance team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability across the organization
  • Conduct internal audits and inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of quality systems
  • Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues and ensure corrective actions
  • Collaborate with procurement and supplier teams to ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Develop and manage supplier performance metrics and improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable automotive standards, regulations, and customer-specific requirements
  • Stay current on evolving industry standards and implement necessary updates
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead quality-driven initiatives
  • Analyze quality data and key performance indicators to drive operational excellence
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns and inquiries
  • Work closely with customers to resolve issues and maintain strong, professional relationships
