NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY THE POSITION: The Pre-Owned Vehicle Salesperson is directly responsible for selling used vehicles meeting gross profit, volume and customer satisfaction standards. Must present a professional appearance.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) are required.

Responsibilities

  • Determine each customer's vehicle needs by asking pertinent questions and carefully listening.
  • Demonstrate used vehicles, including test drives.
  • Know the incoming inventory to include features, accessories, etc. and how they benefit customers.
  • Deliver used vehicles to customers. Ensure the customer understands the vehicle's operating features, warranty and maintenance schedule while laying the foundation for customer loyalty.
  • Maintain an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction. Review with the Used Vehicle Sales Manager monthly objectives, weekly activities, and daily planned activities.
  • Understand the terminology of the automobile business and be informed on technological changes in the products and be able to communicate to customers.
  • Know and understand the federal, state, and local laws which govern retail auto sales.
  • Introduce customers to Service department personnel to emphasize the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the Service department.
  • Report any vehicle lot damage or any problems with a vehicle to the Sales Manager immediately. Complete all training as directed by supervisor.
  • Follow policies and procedures as set forth in Employee Handbook.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
