The P VF FLEET Department of the P FLEET SERVICES Division at Hawaiian Electric Company has 1 Bargaining Unit vacancy available. (Role: Non-Exempt) JOB FUNCTION: Performs all work required in the repair, modification and maintenance of all types of vehicles, equipment, internal-combustion engines and diesel engines. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: As an Automotive Mechanic at the maximum level, performs the following duties. As an Automotive Mechanic at lower levels, performs the following duties under direction or direct supervision in accordance with the various stages of training. Performs all types of vehicle, equipment, engine and tool maintenance; repair and modification work, including gas welding and work on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems and devices. Completes necessary job tags and paperwork in connection with the job. Drives Company vehicles. Directs the work of personnel in lower classifications on any or all of the above operations. Other Responsibilities: Performs similar and incidental duties as required. Assume an emergency management role, as assigned, and perform specific assignments or functions, as needed, in an event of an emergency, not to include routine trouble calls/callouts. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to identify and distinguish the difference between colors, including shades, hues, and tints. (for electrician related positions) Must be able to obtain a Medical Examiners Certificate. Must have or be able to qualify for a State of Hawaii Commercial Driver’s License. Must meet the requirement for frequent required drivers as stated in the Hiring Standards for Required Company Drivers policy. Must be able to lift and carry automotive parts, tools, and/or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Must pass the Edison Electric Institute Construction & Skilled Trades Selection System (CAST). Note: Employees who have taken and passed the Differential Aptitude Test (DAT) do not need to take the CAST. Graduate of Automotive Apprentice Program or equivalent training and experience. Must pass Company Written Job Knowledge Test and Job Proficiency Test. Note: If applicant is a graduate of the Company Automotive Apprentice Program, then Job Proficiency Test is not required. Must have or be able to qualify for C&C and DOT Safety Check Inspection Certification within 24 months. Must have or be able to acquire Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification within 24 months in the following: Diesel engines, Automatic transmission/transaxle, Suspension & steering, Brakes, Electrical/electronic systems, anda Engine performance. Must pass Company Hydraulic Written Job Knowledge Test within 24 months.

Requirements
