About The Position

Bettenhausen Chrysler Dodge Jeep & Ram of Lockport, IL is looking for an experienced License & Title Clerk to join our growing, fast paced dealership. This position will handle all License & Title duties, and assist the billing team as needed. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Automotive License & Title experience required.
Organized and detail-oriented.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Strong Interpersonal skills both written and verbally.

Nice To Haves

Accounting knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare tax, and title & plate documentation on all deals.
Submit legal transfer documents in a timely manner to appropriate DMV or Secretary of State's Office
File automotive titles daily.
Process wholesale and dealer trade tax paperwork.
Research and resolve discrepancies or problems with automotive Titles.
Manage all title inventory, including: check in titles, assign; call on payoffs.
Process Cook county tax refunds if collected in error.
Distinguish between taxable and non-taxable items on automotive deals & process paperwork according to tax regulations.
Review internal Repair Orders for "we owe's"
Bill retail deals, dealer trades and wholesales including all related accounting duties
Audit deal paperwork for accuracy and ensure all parts have been completed (signatures, verify VIN, etc.)
Assemble, review, and submit funding packages per lender requirements.
Prepare title work for sold vehicles, ensuring accuracy of name, address, lien information, taxes, etc.
Other duties as assigned
